Welcome to the University of New Haven's Dietetic Internship Program
The program provides experiences that are designed to fulfill required competencies established by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND) of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. Successful completion of supervised practice results in a Verification Statement from the Dietetic Internship Director authorizing eligibility to sit for the national registration exam administered by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR), the credentialing agency of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. Successful passage of this exam confers the title Registered Dietitian (RD) or Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN).
Dietetic interns will be in clinical, wellness, and community settings while earning nine graduate credits that can apply to either the University's Master of Healthcare Administration, Master of Public Health or MBA Programs.
The University of New Haven’s Dietetic Internship Program has been granted full accreditation by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND), the accrediting agency for the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.
